The World Health Organization (WHO) is teaming up with United Nations Fund to launch a global mobilisation effort to help young people cope with the disruptive effects of Covid-19.
A global youth summit would be convened in April 2021 and a $5 million fund has also been allocated to support local and national youth groups under the initiative.
WHO also addressed the adverse impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on young people citing disruptions to education, economic uncertainty, loss or lack of employment opportunities, impacts on physical and mental health, and trauma from domestic violence.
