UK researchers to train dogs to detect covid-19 infected

In a bid to develop fast and non interactive mode for detecting the disease, British researchers are testing dogs’ ability to sniff out whether people are infected with COVID-19 or not.

Britain’s government had given 500,000 pounds ($606,000) towards the research, which will be conducted by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Durham University.

“Bio-detection dogs already detect specific cancers and we believe this innovation might provide speedy results as part of our wider testing strategy,” innovation minister James Bethell said.
