Jinnah Cant Be Respected, Says UP CM Yogi Adityanath On AMU Matter

The controversy over the Mohammed Ali Jinnah’s potrait inside the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is not fully stopped. Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has made a strong statement on this issue. He said that Jinnah was behind the partition of India and he can’t be given a place of respect in India.

CM Yogi said that he has ordered an inquiry in the AMU case and he will get the report soon. As soon as the report is received, he will take action in this matter.

The CM said that he has sought a detailed report from the university management and assured that he will look into the matter. Adityanath is in Karnataka today where he will be addressing a marathon of rallies in favour of the BJP.

It is clear that the UP government will not show any negligence in the Jinnah’s potrait matter in Aligarh Muslim University.

On Wednesday, clashes were also reported in AMU wherein 41 people are said to have been injured.

After the ongoing controversy, Jinnah’s potrait was removed from the hall of AMU. Amid row over ‘missing’ Jinnah portrait, AMU says temporarily removed for cleaning purposes.

It is noteworthy that on Tuesday, two companies of Rapid Action Force (RAF) have been deployed to maintain law and order. On Wednesday evening, security was increased due to violence in the university campus. Politics has been going on for several days with Jinnah’s portrait.

Apart from this, on Karnataka Assembly polls, Adityanath said that the Congress has looted the state and accused it of indifference towards the farmers cause. ‘Karnataka is Congress’ ATM. The party has lost all elections. Karnataka is the hub of Congress’ loot and corruption,” he said, adding that corruption soared under CM Siddaramaiah’s regime.

Karnataka will go to polls in a single phase on May 12. Results will be declared on May 15.
