Sunrisers Hyderabad beated Delhi Daredevils by 7 wickets in the 36th match of IPL season 11. Delhi Daredevils won the toss and batted first in this exciting match played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, losing 5 wickets in 20 overs, scored 163 runs and set a target of 164 runs for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
In reply, Hyderabad beated Delhi in the 19.5 overs and nearly out of the playoffs. Yusuf Pathan batted in the last over and hit 27 runs in 12 balls and gave victory to Hyderabad. In the last two overs, Hyderabad needed 28 runs to win. In the 19th over, Yusuf Pathan added 14 runs with the help of one four and a six, and in the final over, Hyderabad won with the help of a four and a six.
With six wins from nine games and 14 points in the points table, Hyderabad boasts of one of the best bowling attacks in the ongoing IPL season. Delhi, on the other hand, has managed to carve out just three wins from nine games and are placed at the sixth place in points table.
SRH, kept their chin up under pressure with the likes of Alex Hales (45), Shikhar Dhawan (33), Williamson (32*), Manish Pandey (21) and Yusuf Pathan (27*) contributing at crucial junctures to take SRH to the top of the table with 14 points from nine games.
“The win against DD was important because in the last three or four matches we won because of our bowling. In this match, batsmen won us the game. This is a perfect team performance where the batsmen and bowlers all are performing,” Bhuvneshwar Kumar said after the match.
