India will soon launch an ambitious “Deep Ocean Mission” which would explore minerals, energy and marine diversity in the underwater world.
Secretary at the Union Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), M Rajeevan said that the required approvals for the “futuristic and game-changing” mission are being obtained and it is likely to be launched in next three to four months.
The mission will involve the development of technologies for different deep ocean initiatives and will likely cost around Rs 4,000 crore.
