Madhuri Dixit Nene turns 51 on Tuesday. Madhuri who known as Dhak-Dhak girl of Bollywood, made her debut in 1984 with a Rajshri Productions film called Abodh, she had to wait for another four years before success came knocking at her doorstep. Madhuri is known for her iconic dancing talent and excellent acting skills which is exactly recognised in Tezaab (1988). Her dazzling smile, classic Indian good looks, spectacular dancing skills and effortless acting made her a stand-out performer.
The 1980s is generally considered the darkest phase of Hindi cinema when content suffered immeasurably. The quality of films from the mid 80s to the end of the decade were usually poor in stories and songs etc. In this era, the presentment of female was less and audience for Hindi cinema across the country declined to a large extent.
Then, from the 80s end to the 90s, the acting legend and dancing sensation Madhuri Dixit Nene with blockbusters like Ram Lakkhan, Parinda, Beta, Hum Aapke hain Koun, Saajan, Dil, Anjam, Dil Toh Paagal Hai bacame a household name in the nineties.
Evergreen actress had a certain screen presence that people wanted to see her beauty, her smile, her adaa her acting and her dance.
With films like Sailaab, Kishen Kanhaiya, Jamai Raja and Saajan, she would soon eclipse the hero of the film. In fact, by the time ‘Beta’ released, many in the audience thought the film ought to have been named Beti, so compelling was Madhuri as a wife of a man, totally devoted to his step-mother, who is actually a shrew.
With each appearance, Madhuri proves that age is indeed just a number. The actress credits her disciplined diet and clean eating as a secret to her beauty.
