Four Killed in Tripura landslides, 9000 Homeless In Flood

Tripura CM, Biplab Deb who always be in the news for his controversial remarks, is now in news because of his positive step. During the visit of flooded area Banamalipur he chooses road route in beside of air route. He goes door to door and get the situations of peoples living in affected area.

Heavy rainfall is unlikely to let up in Tripura as the Indian Meteorological Department has predicted inclement weather, including very heavy rainfall, thunderstorm, and gusty winds in parts of Tripura over the next two days.

CM Biplab Deb is visiting the areas personally and taking care of flood relief materials. He announce compensation for flood victims and also assured to provide adequate facilities.

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb declared a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the next of victims families, a government press release said. Deb visited the spots and expressed his condolences.

Four people died and about 9000 have been rendered homeless in West Tripura and Khowai districts after heavy showers lashed these places in the last 24 hours, official said. The administration has opened 25  relief camps.

“My government has been working hard to improve the situation but upgrading the sewerage system of the city cannot be done in a matter of months. My target is to improve the situation of Agartala before the monsoon next year. People are suffering due to the inaction of the previous government. I can only apologise to the people and share their sufferings at present,” Biplab told media.

Recently, heavy storms and rains have also been caught in Tripura. Due to which many areas of Tripura were also hit by the flood.
