Earthquake Of Magnitute 4.2 Hits Himachal Pradesh’s Kinnaur

A magnitude 4.2 earthquake struck in Himachal Pradesh on Monday, sending tremors that were felt in Kinnaur district and adjoining areas. The epicentre of the earthquake was around 114 kms from Himachal’s capital Shimla.

Because of this magnitude 4.2 earthquake on the Richter Scale, there was a fearful atmosphere among people in some areas around Kinnaur. However, no loss of life or damage to property has been was reported so far.

According to information, the quack was felt at about 4.11 pm in Kinnaur of Himachal Pradesh and other areas.

“The intensity of the earthquake, which had its epicentre around 114 kms from Himachal’s capital Shimla, measured 4.2 on the Richter Scale,” the official said. In the evening, quack was also felt in some parts of Kinnaur, Kullu and Shimla.

Earlier, on May 10 and 12 tremors were also felt in Himachal Pradesh. On May 10, earthquake tremors were felt in Shimla, Hamirpur, Una, Kullu, including some other districts. After this, on May 12, the earthquake in Chamba and Kangra district had created panic among the people.
