The leading American Carrier Delta has announced they will start their operations in India from next year, Non Stop flight from New York to Mumbai will be the first fight after a decade since they withdrew the services in the country.
Delta CEO Ed Bastian said, ”It is exciting to be able to announce Delta’s return to India from the US as part of our vision to expand Delta’s reach internationally.” This move will mark a return to India for Delta, which was forced to exit the market after subsidized state-owned airlines made service economically unviable, the airlines said in a statement.
The announcement was made after striking balance with Middle Eastern countries like United Arab Emirates and Qatar who are major partners in the region and the consensus was reached on issues of subsidies being provided to state-owned carriers. This deal allowed Delta to enter Indian market.
It show how good bilateral relationship between India and United States had when it comes to Business, economic, trade policies for growth & mutual cooperation.
